The Green Highlander Classic Salmon Fly

Hand Painted on Pine Disk

This classic salmon fly pattern was designed by Maj. Grant from Wester Elchies, Scotland in the latter part of the 19th century and may have been inspired by the Highlander introduced around 1867. The Green Highlander was presented by Dr. T.E. Price-Tannatt in his book How to Dress Salmon Flies in 1914.

This beautiful rendition is  hand painted on a pine disk that has been stained and accented with black striping.  A full description of the fly is on the reverse along with hanger.  This disk will also sit in an easel.  This one has sold, we can paint you another with a 2 week lead time, just let us know if you would like the black or old world white background!  Thank you!
