Hand Painted Evening Star Salmon Fly

 

This hand painted Evening Star salmon fly is one of the classics from the early days of European fly fishing.  It appears in the book How to Tie Salmon Flies  in 1892.  A striking white fly with a silver body and accented with jungle cock feathers.  This fly is hand painted and signed by Rita Schimpff for Heritage Game Mounts.  It is framed in an oval  wooden gold leaf frame with a brown accent.  It measures 6.5″ X 8.5″.
