Victorian Taxidermy came alive during the Victorian Era (1837-1901) when wealthy hunters, like Teddy Roosevelt, began to commission taxidermists such as Roland Ward to preserve their trophies for their fashionable libraries and sitting rooms.

The Legacy DIY Hunting Trophy Panel

“Old World Style Stole Our Attention”

Is a DIY Hunting Trophy Project waiting for you?  Mia Anstine is a columnist for the Women’s Outdoor News, but shares her love of the outdoors as a guide, outfitter, hunter as well as an archery & firearms instructor.  She also writes for Beretta USA and North American Hunter.

Mia and her daughter Lea jumped at the chance to spend a little mother/daughter tome together.  For this DIY project they chose   to mount one of their beautiful sets of Mule Deer antlers in our decorative Legacy© panel with cover.

Flying Quail on Hand Painted Oak Leaf Mount

Presenting the newest mount from Heritage Game Mounts: a hand painted Quail Mount.

This hand painted quail mount features a taxidermy BobWhite quail flying across a hand painted prairie.  San Antonio artist, Rita Schimpff captures a rising quail on her large panel she calls the Heritage Stag – designed to also be used for Elk and Stag it works with birds as well.

Do you want to remember that famous ‘quail double’ you shot on a beautiful crisp day?  Well, just add one more to the board.   The panel shows off the painting and quail by framing them with ornate oak leaves & acorns – Old World Style.

New Additions & Updates: New Panel for Elk & New angling/shooting Lodges

‘The Heritage Stag’ with antlers

It’s been awhile since I have sent a news update-

Plenty going on and a couple of new blog posts- and best of all- what you have been asking for-

A new panel for larger game like elk….so I will catch you up!

February and March found us in very drastic temperature changes.

Early February found us in the Yucatan catching our first Tarpon and Bonefish on a fly at the

wonderful Casa Blanca Lodge.

See our related blog post of this fantastic trip

Then March found us tromping after quail in unusual 26 degree snow & ice terrain at another wonderful lodge at

Upland Bird Country in Corsicanna, Tx

I finally found a shooting sweater that was good looking, warm and suited for ladies

so I did a guest gear review for Ultimate Upland Lodge magazine

And then….

My new design- a black forest style panel for elk and stag has arrived!

We introduced the new design at the Greater Houston Gun Club in a fundraising shoot benefitting

Turns out—it makes a pretty fabulous mirror too!  Shown here in the Blackberry finish.

I think I need to paint one of my dog portraits on a panel too!

Can’t you see one of your canine companions on a panel?

We are in the process of updating our website so we can better showcase all our new

sporting art & accessories like:

30cal.bolt

Our collection of Texas made shooting pens- here is the 30 Cal Bolt Action writing pen.

The action opens and closes the pen!
